Description

Hokusai carved the Great Wave in the 1830s and it has not stopped moving since. What makes it endure is not the water but the nerve of it: the moment held at full height, right before everything breaks. Kanagawa takes that same swell and wraps it the whole way round, so the wave never lands.

The pattern is carved in relief between two raised rails, worked by hand in solid .925 sterling silver and oxidised so the crests and the fine beading catch light against the darkened ground beneath. This depth of carving is something cast rings cannot hold, and the hand-applied finish means no two pieces are ever identical. You feel it before you see it: 9 grams of silver, 8mm wide, with the interior polished smooth against the finger. Stamped and hallmarked. Never plated, never filled. The third image shows it worn, so you can judge the scale before you order.

Oxidised silver is not meant to stay pristine. It darkens in the recesses and brightens where you touch it, so the ring slowly records the years you give it. It wears alone or alongside Koi, which swims the same water. Available in sizes 6 to 14, and most returns come down to fit, so check our Size Guide before ordering. Handcrafted to order in 5 to 7 working days, shipped in protected Silvalor packaging with a polishing cloth, and covered for life by our Lifetime Guarantee.
